The Government of the Republic of Kenya in collaboration with the African Union will host the Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit 2024 (AFSH2024). The summit aims to gather all relevant stakeholders (African Heads of State and Government, Ministers responsible for Foreign Affairs and Agriculture, high-ranking government officials, senior policy makers and private -sector players. Other participants will include representatives of farmers organizations and development agencies, including NGOs, scholars and scientists, and representatives of leading donor organizations) to emphasize the critical importance of fertilizer and soil health in driving sustainable, pro-poor agricultural growth in Africa. Additionally, it seeks to develop an African Fertilizer and Soil Health Action Plan and launch the Soils Initiative for Africa.
The Challenge
To accommodate the diverse array of delegates, including heads of state and ministers, the summit required superior French interpretation services. Congress Rental East Africa was chosen to deliver these services for a breakout room dedicated to heads of state meetings and the main plenary hall at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi. The solution was precisely customized to fit each room’s layout in collaboration with the AV service provider, Elite Sounds.
The Solution
For the Heads of State meetings in the breakout room, interpreters worked from soundproof booths that met ISO standards, ensuring high-quality interpretation. In the plenary hall, interpreters utilized built-in soundproof rooms, and delegates received the interpreted audio through digital infrared receivers. This setup ensured clear and effective communication, demonstrating Congress Rental East Africa's commitment to excellence and precision in simultaneous interpretation services.
