The International Development Association (IDA), a crucial arm of the World Bank, is dedicated to supporting low-income countries worldwide. By providing grants and low-interest loans, IDA enables these nations to make significant investments in their futures, improve living standards, and build safer, more prosperous communities.

In collaboration with the Treasury of the Republic of Kenya, the World Bank's IDA21 summit was organized to bring together ministers and Heads of State from across Africa. The purpose was to discuss and formulate a policy package for the next replenishment phase, IDA21, scheduled for July 2025 to June 2028. This summit represents the most substantial replenishment effort to date.
The Challenge
To accommodate the diverse array of delegates, including heads of state and ministers, the summit required superior French interpretation services. Congress Rental East Africa was chosen to deliver these services for a breakout room dedicated to heads of state meetings and the main plenary hall at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi. The solution was precisely customized to fit each room’s layout in collaboration with the AV service provider, Elite Sounds.

The Solution
For the Heads of State meetings in the breakout room, interpreters worked from soundproof booths that met ISO standards, ensuring high-quality interpretation. In the plenary hall, interpreters utilized built-in soundproof rooms, and delegates received the interpreted audio through digital infrared receivers. This setup ensured clear and effective communication, demonstrating Congress Rental East Africa's commitment to excellence and precision in simultaneous interpretation services.
